DIFFERENTIATION & PROMOTIONS

LEARN HOW TO CREATE DIFFERENTIATION OR DIE IRRELEVANT

Your biggest marketing challenge is NOT competition (although most local businesses do ignore the threat of compeition to their own peril).  Your biggest marketing challenge is indifference.  How can you get somebody to take action when they are happy with the status quo?  Like any other skill in life, I believe that the way you learn to create differentiation is to learn from others and to practice.  That's why I've written the following posts to help you evaluate the many different ways there are to create differentiation.  To be clear, some would argue that trying to be different is a selfish act, that it does not consider the needs of the consumer first.  I believe that you need to learn how to differentiate before you can learn how to become remarkable, that being remarkable is an extreme form (and yes, a desirrable form) of differentiation.
